Born in Padua, she is a graduate of the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome, winner of the first prize in the 2018 Simone Alaimo Competition.
Winner of the Help Musicians Sybil Tutton Opera Award 2021, Arlene is an Italian mezzosoprano with Middle-eastern discendent, a recent 20/21 Young Artist and now a 21/22 Associate Artist at the National Opera Studio (NOS) in London, where she had the chance to study with coaches by the likes of Dame Sarah Connolly, Susan Bullock, Marie McLaughlin, Della Jones and Andrew Greenan supported by Lorna Parker and Chris Bown.
Her operatic appearances include Lucretia The rape fo Lucretia Opera North, Zaida Il Turco in Italia Longhope Summer Opera, Adele main role in the premiere of the contemporary opera La sopravvivenza della specie Teatro Eliseo in Rome, Dorina main role in La Diavolessa Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Rosina Il Barbiere di Siviglia Teatro Greco, Dorabella Così fan tutte Interocrea Festival, Cherubino Le nozze di Figaro EtnaOpera Festival, Andromaca Il Polidoro Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza and Charlotte Werther. For Welsh National Opera Arlene has performed excerpts from Carmen, Dorabella, Lucretia. She has performed as a soloist at Cadogan Hall, St David’s Hall, Coliseum, Hoxton Hall, Whitehall, Fulham Palace.
Arlene also appeared as La Speranza and Una Ninfa Orfeo by Monteverdi at Palazzo Te in Mantua.
Concert work has included Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Nova Symphonia Patavina at Chiesa dei Frari in Venice, Mozart’s Requiem Mass K626, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria with Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Britten Friday afternoons, Lucretia in Britten’s The rape of Lucretia.
She has sung in the ensemble of the Cantoria Campitelli in Santa Maria in Campitelli and Radix Harmonica in Rome.
Arlene has performed in recitals and participated in masterclasses at Vicenza in Lirica, Nova Symphonia Patavina and National Opera Studio with artists by the likes of Dame Sarah Connolly, Barbara Frittoli, Monica Bacelli, Fiorenza Cedolins, Francesca Patanè, Danilo Rigosa, Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz, Cristina Melis.
